My name is Paula Marsili, and my journey as a photographer has taken me across six continents and twenty-nine countries. With my camera as my steadfast companion, I have explored the tapestry of life and culture that our world has to offer.
Photography became my passion in the late 1960s, sparking a lifelong journey of artistic expression. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin and a Master of Arts from Indiana University, which allowed me the incredible opportunity to live and study abroad in cultures rich with art and history.
Now retired from the business world, I find myself dedicating more time to my photography, allowing me to delve deeper into my creative pursuits. While I originally focused on travel imagery, my artistic curiosity has led me to embrace the intricate worlds revealed through macro photography and the captivating challenges of abstract art.
My work embodies a blend of diverse sensibilities, often merging simplicity with complexity. Each image is not merely a snapshot; it’s an interpretation of the beauty I encounter. Through my lens, I strive to present a unique perspective—one that invites viewers to engage with the nuanced layers of our surroundings.
I am proud to say that my work has found its place not only in private collections but also in corporate offices, local art galleries, and various television shows, commercials, and motion pictures.
Photography, to me, is a profound means of storytelling. It allows me to reflect upon my experiences and share them with others in a visual language. As an artist, I continually explore the fascinating and ever-evolving realms of this medium, driven by an insatiable curiosity and a desire to connect with the world around me.
